"Forever Home" Success Stories

Here is a heartwarming collection of moments, each highlighting the special connection between CARE and the families who have opened their hearts to our canine and feline friends. We celebrate the joyful reunions as shelter dogs and cats found forever homes, marking a new chapter in their lives filled with love, care, and companionship.
From the timid kitten that bloomed into a playful ball of energy, to the abused dog who waited patiently for the right family, each adoption day is a testament to the resilience, kindness, and generosity of our community.
These stories remind us that every animal has a unique journey and an innate desire to be loved, and we are honored to have played a part in their transition into loving homes. Congratulations to all the new families who have welcomed these precious pets, and thank you for extending your compassion and care to these deserving companions.

Onyx
This young lady, along with three generations of her family, travelled 100 miles for a meet-n-greet with Onyx. They brought their Plott Hound, Ace along to make sure it was the right fit. Onyx loves playing with other dogs but is a big boy and we wanted to make sure he wasn't too rough. They did great together! She had done her homework and got him a really nice training harness so she could work with him. Yes, it is pink, but they were out of red lol. Onyx is heading to Jamestown, TN to live on their farm. We are overjoyed!
Midnight
Midnight was found as stray by this couple. They fostered him for us while we waited for a spot to open at the shelter. In a cruel twist of fate, the day they were to bring Midnight in for his neuter, their dog of six years passed away. At that moment they knew they couldn't let Midnight go. He acts just like their dog Indigo in every way imaginable. They knew he was what they needed the most right now.

Jax
This is a very special grandpa indeed. He cared for his bed-ridden wife for 50 years until she passed away in December. He has cared for his special needs grandson since the day he was born. They really are best buddies. They came in today in search of a dog that would make a good emotional support dog for him. He really took a liking to little Jax. Jax, who is normally very shy, seemed perfectly fine with him even though he wasn’t so quiet in his approach. We were all quite surprised at how well he did with this special young man. We think a wonderful friendship is on the horizon.
